For me London is the perfect city to travel to there is a good vibe and people there are nice and polite. London is a city that combines great culture, musical shows, endless things and places to see, great night life, and, of course, last but not least, shopping!!! Here are a few tips for a perfect trip to London:
First and foremost, location. Try and book a hotel as close as you can to the center, book it in advance, but choose the option to cancel, because you can check the booking again closer to the flight and you might be able to book another room for less!! If you were not able to book a hotel in the center don’t worry there is always the underground, which can get you anywhere in a short time. (if you are using the underground, you should buy an Oyster Card- it’s like a rav kav, and you can charge it instead of paying every time you get on the train).
On your first day I would recommend a walk to the Buckingham palace. Stop at “Pret cafĂ©” or an express supermarket, buy yourself a nosh and a drink and walk to the palace. After that you can walk through Saint James’s Park (where you can stop to lay on the grass, enjoy the view and the fresh air) to Westminster, where you can find the Big Ben, and cross the bridge to the London Eye. Do not go on the London Eye unless you have finished all the sights you chose to see and only if you have some money left, because it’s really not a must. On the same day you can visit the “London Dungeon” which is an interesting experience, and the best part of it is that you can see the stunning Crown Jewels.
Another sight I’d recommend is the Camden Market. It’s a very cool place, it is a trendy place that is familiar with the gothic style. At the Camden Market you will be able to find many shops that may offer unique items, furthermore, you will be able to find the food market, which offers a variety of different high-quality food. Another sight in the market area is the Portobello Market, which offers many antique items, but notice this market is open only once a week so check the day so you won’t miss it!
A sight I would recommend not to miss, is the National Art Gallery. I have been to London three times and not once have I missed a visit to this gallery. As an art lover I love spending time there, it is a huge space, and there is no way you can see all of it. Therefore if you go, before you start your tour, take a map of the museum and choose the sections you’d like to see.
Last but not least- food, shopping and night life!
As for the food, we ate at the “Shake Shake” almost every day. We are great hamburger lovers. The “Shake Shake” offers a high quality hamburger at low price, and you will find a branch just at the beginning of Regent Street! The major shopping street where you can find Primark, Top Shop, Adidas, American Outfitters and many many more! Another great food place to experience is China Town, the Chinese fast food street. If you walk around you might find a very cool Chinese soup restaurant, but be aware that all of you must order, and if not you pay 50 pounds just for sitting there! As for the night life, the Piccadilly area offers many places to drink, including casinos, small bars and big clubs.
I almost forgot! Don’t you dare miss a musical! Go at least to one! It’s not cheap but it’s worth every penny.
There is still so much to see, but I can keep going on and on forever. So, all that is left to say is ENJOY!

ReplyDeleteSounds like a very intensive trip!
ReplyDeleteI have a tip regarding the musicals. Almost every theatre has a lottery between 5 and 5.30 pm every day. If your name is drawn, you win 2 tickets (but of course if you're travelling with a companion, both of you can enter). Now, you don't really win - you get a ticket for a reduced price. We were lucky to get two tickets for the Book of Mormon for 20 quid in the stalls. We then went to the (so-called) half-price ticket booth in Leicester Sq. just to see, out of curiosity, how much the tickets were going for. They were starting from GBP 97!
