The Horse Boy

Get ready, this will be one of the best recommendations you'll ever get!

It's a true story about one special boy and his brave father...

Rowan is four years old and diagnosed with autism. He has angry seizures, he's not toilet-trained, and often distant and hostile toward others. His father Rupert Isaacson (a writer) and mother Kristin (a psychologist) tried everything. They took him to all sorts of therapies, but none seemed to work while his situation got worse.

One day, Rupert took Rowan for a walk (the only activity that seemed to calm him) and they ran into a farm with a horde of horses. Rupert looked away for a fraction of a second and by the time he noticed, Rowan started running directly towards the male alpha horse of the pack. His reaction was priceless. The male alpha lowered his head to reach Rowan, who immediately started to stroke his forehead and both of them looked like they had known each other for years. There was an instant connection between the two and that is where our story begins…
A long journey to Mongolia, traveling for days on horseback, encountering Shamans, dealing with many struggles and discovering themselves from the very beginning, we will follow Rowan and his family in their greatest adventure of all.
What will become of them at the end?
You'll have to read the book to find out…

  1. Sounds interesting - or at least you made it sound very intriguing :) - though this is not really the kind of books I normally like reading.
